Keep the faith

I’ve got photos of two more testers for Bianca’s book to share with you, both of which are amazing!

I’ll start with the Chocolate Gravy. I know what you’re thinking: Chocolate? Gravy? An excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast? Who thought of such a thing?! I don’t know, but I want to give that person a hug.

So perfect paired with Bianca's fluffy biscuits

Next up, nothing short of a miracle. The Brit (in)famously hates squash. HATES. I cannot stress this enough. I (being the bitch that I am) insisted on serving him some of Bianca’s Creamy Squash Casserole anyway. He (being the ever-patient husband that he is) agreed to try it. When he took his first bite, I was very much encouraged when he didn’t immediately spit it out. When I asked what he thought, his exact words were: “it’s surprisingly un-revolting”… Then he ate the whole serving. Did you get that, people? HE. ATE. IT. *cue Hallelujah Chorus*

Creamy Squash Casserole, or gift from the gods? You decide.

Moral of this story? Keep the faith, children. Always keep the faith.

we made Bianca’s biscuits a few weeks ago, but for some dumbass reason i didn’t make the chocolate gravy! wtf was wrong with me!?! looks like i need to get on that tester recipe as well! isn’t testing Bianca the best?!? all of her recipes are all so gloriously gooooood! and your biscuits look divine smothered in all that chocolate awesomeness! huzzah!

Definitely try it on him! I mean, it’s worth a try, and if he still doesn’t like it you have an excuse to eat it all yourself!

The first time I made Bianca’s biscuits I made the sausage sage gravy, but I figured I should probably try the chocolate gravy too… you know, to be a good tester and all :)

Also, I love the way you said: “isn’t testing Bianca the best?!?” – I probably test her patience a lot, but yeah, testing her is great!

That chocolate gravy is so good! We totally loved it. And thanks for reminding me about that squash casserole – I’m totally making it this week, the CSA gave me a couple of zucchinis so this is perfect.

I can totally see a cook book with the following endorsement on the back.

“The recipes were surprisingly un-revolting. I was able to eat every item in this book. Two thumbs up.”

p.s. When I glanced at the tags at the bottom of the post I thought it said “breakfast, tears.” And I thought, wow it must be amazing that The Brit has turned over a new leaf if this food is bringing her to tears.

And then I realized it said “testers.”

      • poopiebitch says:

I totally think Bianca should put that on the back of her book… you can’t find that kind of sincerity just anywhere.

Also – The Brit’s reaction almost did bring me to tears :)
