Floored

We are not finished. We got most of the way through one room and realized that our A/C is not working. Then we realized it is leaking… again… which is how the old carpet got ruined in the first place.

Let’s talk about something else, shall we? Like food!

This is possibly the best sandwich ever:

Tofurky brand Cranberry & Stuffing deli slices with Vegenaise, cranberry sauce and lettuce on whole grain bread. I thought it was definitely the best sandwich ever until someone on the PPK Forums suggested Tofutti cream cheese instead of Vegenaise (freakin’ brilliant). I will have to try that and get back to you.

The Brit and I stopped in at a small farmer’s market earlier to see what they had. There wasn’t much yet – it’s still early – but there were strawberries! We bought a quart for $3.75, but the guy put a huge handful extra into the bag… bonus!

It was a gorgeous day, so we took them to Starbucks and sat outside drinking coffee and eating strawberries.

And finally, the wonderful Bianca of Vegan Crunk passed on the E for Excellent award to me:

Which is pretty much awesome – thank you! I feel kind of guilty because I’ve been a pretty crappy blogger the last couple of weeks, but hopefully this will inspire me to do a better job. I just want to thank Bianca because her blog is about as awesome as it gets, so it’s a big deal to get this from her!

If I could, I would pass this right back to Bianca, but I don’t think that’s in the rules. Either way, I would like to pass it on to:

The lovely VeganCowGirl
AND
My girl Cardiogirl

Also, I have insomnia. Like, bad.

Mmm that sandwich looks SO delicious! Like thanksgiving leftovers, hehe.

Thanks for saying my blog is awesome!

And I’m so jealous of your strawberries. Yesterday, after I told you I was going to be picking strawberries, I got a call from the Windmere Farms people saying they were all picked clean again! This is the second time that’s happened to me! Grrr! Anyhow, they told me to check back on Saturday.

BTW, the dinner for Umai on Saturday at 1 p.m. has been moved to Pho Hoa Binh (on Madison across from the Piggly Wiggly) at 1:15 p.m.

Umai is apparently not open for lunch on Saturdays. My bad. Anyway, it’d be awesome if you can make it. If you’ve never had the Pho Hoa Binh, it is something magical to be experienced.

And if there are strawberries on Saturday and you’re not busy, you can come with me if you want. I told the strawberry people I’d call them at 1 p.m. Sat. to confirm.

You rock, sistah! Thank you very much and I’m telling you I’m not a fan of cranberry, but your photography just sucks me in every single time.

I cannot get enough of the close ups! Love them! Do you use a digital camera for that? Ours is almost six years old now and it doesn’t do close ups very well. I think it has a fixed point and anything closer than three feet comes out blurry. I guess that’s old technology for ya.

    Keep on rockin!

You crack me up! I was just reading your comment on Cardiogirl’s site and this completely cracked me up!

“Rachel Ray drives me batty – I’m sorry, but she does. Too damned perky, and I’ve never seen her cook a single meal without meat. I know she’s appealing to the majority, but I just want to take her bright orange-handled pan and smack her upside the head with it… too much? Sorry.”

    My sentiments exactly!

I picked strawberries on my way home too! and they’re darn tasty!
I’m sorry about the floor and the leaking A/C…

Aren’t those Cranberry & Stuffing deli slices divine? It’s like everything good about Thansgiving all rolled up into one deli slice!

And congrats on the award. You have a great little blog over here (not to mention the best name LOL).
